Who we are
In January 2024 we were made aware of a sibling set of five 10 week old puppies at Tulsa Animal Services that were set to be euthanized. My stomach churned. I knew the animal welfare world wasn’t well off but I didn’t know it had hit the point of killing literally puppies.
Without hesitation I said if you can find a way to make it happen we will foster all five in Kansas, anything to keep them alive. Little did I know, someone I’ve grown to love larger than life in the animal world was working behind the scenes. All 5 made it out alive. A few weeks later, our Tucker made his big debut. He started out as a sheriffs office dog and then after getting used to everyone at home he became one of the pack.
He was it. He was the turning point. Tucker turned us on to what was the reality of millions of animals every year.
We dove in.
We have helped several dumped dogs and even took in the heartbreaking reality of losing one. Lyla, who we created and added to our home as if she was always apart of it. I never got to touch her for her fear out weighed her desire for help, and I will mourn her for the rest of my life and for as long as I continue to fight in animal welfare.
We have helped several dumped, inbred, injured cats.
We have helped a community member repair and fortify their fence in order to keep their dogs on their property and safe!
We have begun working with our local city pound, where we hyper focused on reconciliation efforts and adoption efforts over the tools previously used.
We have transported tens of thousands of miles and seen many new states behind the wheel of a freedom ride with some very deserving dogs.
We have provided donation relief and holiday compassion visits through a program we established - Christmas for Canines.
We have provided medical vetting sponsorships and adoption fee sponsorships to help navigate an overpriced world and an adopter infrequent world, unfortunately.
We have provided boots on the ground networking where we have helped long term stay dogs find homes and helped shelters locate rescue tags and adopters. One of our biggest wins was Nova from Ulysses shelter. She had been a resident for two years in the shelter! We were able to locate an adopter local to us where she has thrived.
All of this to lead into the four following breakdowns:
A Dog’s Life Rescue, Lyla’s Legacy:
Lyla’s Legacy was founded with a promise to the dogs who have been dumped, abandoned, and left behind. We believe that every life has value, and we are committed to giving these forgotten dogs the care, compassion, and love they deserve.
Our core value is commitment. Commitment to standing by the most vulnerable, to offering safety and healing, and to ensuring that no dog is ever discarded or overlooked again.
Through Lyla’s Legacy, we honor the resilience of abandoned dogs and carry forward a mission of hope: to transform heartbreak into second chances and create brighter futures for every dog we touch.
A Dog’s Life Rescue, Pearls Legacy:
Pearl’s Legacy was created in honor of the dogs who need a second chance—the ones often overlooked because of their behavioral challenges. We believe that every dog, no matter their past, deserves patience, compassion, and the opportunity to thrive. Our mission is to provide care, structure, and understanding to behavioral dogs, helping them find stability and, ultimately, the loving homes they deserve.
Our core value is commitment. Commitment to never giving up on the hard cases, to working with compassion and consistency, and to standing by each dog as they learn, grow, and heal. We are dedicated to proving that with the right care and guidance, even the most misunderstood dogs can shine.
Through this work, Pearl’s Legacy carries forward a promise: to always honor the dogs who need us most by giving them safety, love, and the chance at a brighter future.
A Dog’s Life Rescue, Sisters Legacy:
Sisters Legacy was founded on the belief that every animal deserves dignity, love, and compassion—especially those facing the most difficult circumstances. Our rescue is dedicated to providing care for end-of-life and critical medical case dogs and cats, offering them comfort, healing, and the chance to know kindness regardless of how much time they have left.
At the heart of our mission is commitment: commitment to standing by the most vulnerable, to advocating for those who cannot speak, and to honoring each life with respect and compassion. For us, rescue is more than saving—it’s about creating a legacy of love and ensuring that no animal is forgotten or left without care.
A Dog’s Life Rescue, Jude’s Legacy:
Jude’s Legacy was created to extend hope and relief to the underserved and underprivileged—both people and their beloved animals. We recognize that access to food and medical care can be overwhelming barriers, and our mission is to ease that burden by providing essential support where it’s needed most. Through food relief and medical assistance, we help keep pets healthy, safe, and with the families who love them.
At the heart of Jude’s Legacy is our core value: commitment. Commitment to serving communities in need, to standing with families during their most difficult times, and to ensuring that no pet goes without care or nourishment.
Through this work, Jude’s Legacy carries forward a promise of compassion, dignity, and unwavering dedication to those who need it most.
We will be erecting a food pantry at the sight of our new building in honor Jude’s life and to continue the legacy named in his honor.
